Choosing the right medication is not as simple as it may seem. This article will outline the differences between Indicas, Sativas and Hybrids.
Lets first take a look a true Indicas. Indicas generally have a higher CBD and CBN count and lower THC counts compared to the other two types. Indicas are known to cause an overall body high or sense of total relaxation. Generally Indicas are used to treat chronic pain and insomnia. Indicas can cause a “couch lock” effect which is good when medicating at night, but you may see a decrease in motivation.
Sativas generally have a higher THC count and lower CBD & CBN, causing a more euphoric uplifting positive experience. Sativas generally are used for treating mental issues such as depression and can have a longer lasting effect. Sativas are generally used as a “day time” medication since the high is more of a cerebral experience and the body high is relatively mild.
Hybrids are considered by some to be the best of both worlds, offering both a moderate amount of THC and CBD counts resulting in a body buzz as well as the uplifting high. Many strains have been crossed several times with both indicas and sativas resulting in an overall relaxing feeling while still offering motivation to complete everyday tasks.
There are many different strains and classifications of cannabis, and they may have slight variances from one grow operation to another. The best way to determine what is the right choice for you is by consulting your doctor and experimenting with all three types to determine what treats your ailments the best!
